THE RALLY TO RESTORE SANITY has ended, the hypersexualized masses have receded, and it's time at last to return to that grand tradition of shrill partisan commentary on the day's events. Election Day is but a day away, after all! BELOW: I call someone a "homophobe"; boy in dress alarms conservatives; Rebecca Traister remains oddly reasonable in light of Sharron Angle;

MAILING PUBIC HAIR, considered: Is this the only appropriate response to that guy who memorably voiced disgust at Christine O'Donnell's, on Gawker? I've got a feeling this guy (left) wouldn't mind. Way to be the voice of sanity, man wearing "hairy box" costume.

REBECCA TRAISTER on the ultra-conservative women on the ballot, like O'Donnell, Angle, and Michelle Bachmann: "Even if you don't like them, it's not fair to suggest that their presence on the ticket represents a step backward for women," Traister writes. "In the pursuit of true gender equity, people across the political spectrum need not only women to vote for, but women to vote against."

THE PERILS of legislating against street harassment.

BOY IN PRINCESS DRESS vexes conservatives; Washington Times publishes AP story on gender-nonconforming kid on Oct. 31, apparently to discourage any WaTi-reading boys and girls from deviating from the "girls are pretty princesses, boys are Wolverine" costume script this year.

HOMOPHOBES LAUNCH new social networking game: Differentiating between "legitimately hateful or violent speech" and "statements that are merely critical of homosexuality."

EIGHTY-FOUR restrooms in the District of Columbia have been converted to unisex in response to an initiative targeted at making D.C. bathrooms more inclusive for trans people.

IT GETS BETTER: Capital City Public Charter School students created this video in support of gay rights long before Dan Savage rallied adults to support LGBT youth through YouTube. The school project won an award from the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club on Thursday.
