- Nothing can keep Captain America down! Except two strong hands.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Chris Evans plays a 90-pound weakling who submits to a government science project that beefs him up into a superhero. As in, steroids? Anyway, he fights the Nazis, including a rouge scientist named the Red Skull. This reboot has great 1940's style and comes up with a way to propel Captain America into the future — so he can participate in next summer's ensemble The Avengers. I think I liked this better when they called it Iron Man. 2½ stars
Friends with Benefits
Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake have great chemistry as a physical only no emotions couple — a storyline already done earlier this year by Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. I wonder what would've happened if Timberlake had teamed with Portman? Anyway, don't expect anything new, but do expect a pleasant romantic comedy told with great style. 2½ stars
