Defense budget headed for full House committee

The Department of Defense budget is shaping up to be a political powder keg -- with House Republicans and President Obama on opposite sides. A House panel reversed several of the Pentagon's wishes last week amid demands of greater austerity. The disagreement also centers on how lawmakers will reduce defense spending by $487 billion over 10 years. CQ Roll Call's Senior Writer John Donnelly outlined their arguments on Capital Insider.
