Ryan Howard ejected, Roy Oswalt plays left field, Phillies still lose
Ryan Howard apparently decided to pay tribute to Lou Piniella after being called out on a checked-swing third strike in the top of the 14th inning of last night's game against Houston. Unfortunately for Howard, the Phillies had no position players left on the bench to replace him. Inevitably, it was Roy Oswalt who came in to play left field, with Raul Ibanez moving to take Howard's spot at first base, and it was Oswalt, naturally, who wound up making the final out of Philadelphia's 4-2 loss in 16 innings.
