Nyjer, Nyjer, Nyjer

It might seem like we're picking on Nyjer Morgan in this space, but it's not our fault he seems to have a knack for finding himself in the middle of controversy, which is exactly what happened again last night.
In the top of the 10th inning, Morgan tried to score from second base on a ground ball by Adam Kennedy, and wound up bowling over Marlins catcher Brett Hayes in the process. After the game, Morgan told Adam Kilgore "If I try to slide, I probably hurt myself." Video of the play is here. Decide for yourself.
I like the aggressiveness of waving Morgan home, but for me, I think he has to slide there. Morgan has to drop down, make his body smaller, and make it harder for Hayes to make a tag.
Meanwhile, the Marlins were not too pleased with Nyjer's non-slide, according to Kilgore, which raises the prospect of some retaliation tonight.
