Redskins Season Predictions: A partial round-up

Today, ESPN unleashed their expert predictions on an unsuspecting nation. The results were not pretty for Redskins fans. 12 of ESPN's 16 prognosticator's picked the Cowboys to win the East, while two picked the Eagles, and another two picked the Giants. Only one analyst, Matthew Berry, aka the Talented Mr. Roto, picked the Skins to make the playoffs.

Ouch.

Now, we'll do our own Redskins season preview here next week, but predictions for this Redskins team have varied wildly. My colleague Mike Jones and I were four whole games apart when we discussed our preliminary predictions for this season back before training camp.

But it's not just us. Peter King has the Redskins going 6-10. His Sports Illustrated colleague Ross Tucker? He has the Redskins going 10-6. Pro Football Weekly had the Redskins going 8-8 in their season preview issue.

Just a little something to keep in mind, lest you ever forget that it is folly to predict a team's record before the season starts, particularly in a league as unpredictable as the NFL.

All the same, don't forget to check out our Redskins season preview next week.
