Gilbert Arenas fined a $50,000 pittance for fake knee injury
The Washington Post's Michael Lee has confirmed that Gilbert Arenas was fined $50,000 by the team for faking a knee injury and lying about it to coach Flip Saunders prior to Tuesday night's preseason game against Atlanta. Arenas admitted to reporters after the 107-92 win Tuesday night that he did it to get backup Nick Young some time as a starter.
In other news, this, from the great Joseph White of the Associated Press in the summer of 2008:
The unpredictable three-time All-Star point guard, in vintage Agent Zero fashion, told the Post and the Washington Times on Thursday that he has agreed to re-sign for $111 million over six years, considerably less than the maximum deal he said the Wizards offered him when the free agency period began on Tuesday.
And on that note, happy Friday, everyone. Enjoy your weekend.
