Capitals roster frozen for next eight days

The NHL's annual holiday roster freeze began at midnight this morning. This means that Capitals will be prohibited from making trades or loans, and cannot put any players on waivers during this period. The team can place and recall players on injured reserve and can recall players from their minor league affiliates in emergency situations, but cannot send them down.

The freeze ends at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28. The Capitals' current active roster is after the jump.
