We hope you've been enjoying the nice weather as much as this reporter has been enjoying the lull in the Brandon Banks and Albert Haynesworth stories. Remarkably, there are other newsworthy items involving D.C. teams this afternoon, and here's what's going on.

-Stephen Strasburg threw for the first time at Nationals spring training today, doing some very, very light tossing as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery. Afterward, Strasburg met with the media and Adam Kilgore has a few quotes from that encounter.

-Last night, the Wizards closed the pre-All Star Break portion of their schedule just as they opened it, with a blowout loss to the Orlando Magic. But the night did have one moment of humor, as Kirk Hinrich managed to completely break J.J. Redick's ankles. The video is embedded for the enjoyment of Wizards fans, Maryland fans, and Duke haters below.

-The NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed to meet with a mediator in an effort to restart the moribund efforts to agree to a new CBA. A statement from the NFL Players Association reads, in full: "The NFLPA has always focused on reaching a fair Collective Bargaining Agreement through negotiations. We hope that this renewed effort, through mediation, will help the players and owners reach a successful deal."

-And finally, the Capitals' lineup for tonight's game against the Sharks (10:30 p.m., CSN) will once again not include Mike Green.

I love that video and think it's the Washington Wizards highlight of the year! That was a thing of beauty and Redick should be benched forever for letting Kirk Hinrich do that to him! I could understand if it was a guy like John Wall, it's a great clip!
