African American women and illness

African American women across the country are dying prematurely at rates greater than any other group of women. They are dying from Cardiovascular Disease, cancer, strokes and Diabetes. But this is a preventable crisis. Drl. Marilyn Hughes Gaston and Dr. Gayle Porter started the Gaston & Porter Health Improvement Center to help women, especially African American women, improve their physical and emotional health outcomes.
