Right on the heels of a massive ground turkey recall and drama with E. coli-infected strawberries in Oregon comes two more major recalls: beef and diced bacon.

Ontario-based Ailments Prince is recalling 380,000 pounds of diced bacon due to possible Listeria contamination. Affected products include Napoli Cooked Bacon Topping (case code 83600), Stefano Brand Cooked Diced Bacon (83601), Bellissimo Cooked Diced Bacon (83601), Olymel Cooked Diced Bacon (83603), and Assoluti Cooked Diced Bacon (83608). The contamination was detected during an inspection at the U.S. border. Products were distributed nationally.

National Beef Packing Co. of Dodge City, Kan. is also issuing a recall for 60,424 pounds of ground beef. A routine microbial test by the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture turned up E. coli, and a subsequent investigation found that the company's slaughter facility was the sole source of the contamination. Affected products include those labeled National Beef 80/20 Fine Ground Chuck bearing product codes 483, 684, 782, 785, and 787. Additional products labeled National Beef 81/19, 80/10, and 86/14 are also contaminated (codes 431, 471, 494).
