Showdown averted but big fights remain; DC gets dissed
Today on NewsTalk, we discussed the budget agreement budget reached late Friday. The deal keeps the government functioning for now, but larger fights remain on spending, entitlement programs and the debt. And some lawmakers are still waiting to see the specifics of the budget deal (still being finalized) before they commit to vote “yes” later this week. In addition, we discussed the bipartisan decision to bar the District of Columbia from spending its own money on abortion services for poor women – a provision that has sparked outrage from DC leaders.
