Friday on Newstalk, Jennifer Donelan talked to the Chief of Police and Director for public safety for the University of Maryland, David Mitchell. He talked about Thursday's scare on Virginia Tech's campus and what local schools are doing to keep students safe.

Then Brian McPherson, the Vice President of Investments for Raymond James & Associates, explained how retirees should structure their retirements in these turbulent economic times and on the heels of what could be a double-dip recession.

In our secon half hour, Daryl Snowden of Cardiomax detailed the DC Hearts Initiative. The workshop will take place after Labor Day, September 6th. He was joined by cardiologist Dr. Puneet Narayan and Marianne Lawrence, a heart disease survivor.
