Should Loudoun opt out?; Zimmerman posts bail; DC taxi fares

Today on NewsTalk, we talked about whether Loudoun County should opt out of the Silver Line financing program. While many Loudoun residents welcome the arrival of Metro, others worry about the cost, and critics cite the transit agency’s management challenges and labor policies. We spoke with Loudoun Supervisor Ken Reid and Tony Howard, head of the county Chamber of Commerce. Legal analyst A. Scott Bolden talked about George Zimmerman’s appearance in court late last week. As of this morning, Zimmerman is free, awaiting trial on second murder charges in the death of Trayvon Martin. And Pete Tucker of thefightback.org talked about the rise in taxi fares in DC, and the confusion that may result when some cabs charge new fares while others charge current rates.
