Tickets Still Available: Wallpaper, George Thorogood, Richard Ellliot

- Wallpaper comes to U Hall tonight
The Something Corporate reunion at 9:30 is sold out, and anyone who ignored my earlier advice to leave for the Green Day show at 9 a.m. may be looking for an alternate plan for the evening. Don’t worry, there are plenty of other acts to check out tonight, including a hyphy/R&B satirist, the creator of an '80s anthem, and a saxophonist who couldn't quite weather last week's storm.
Wallpaper at U Street Music Hall: Eric Frederic, an extremely early-adopter of Auto-Tune and Bay Area legend, seems to shroud himself in a strange jumble of alter-egos and grand statements on the shallow, throwaway nature of popular music. Still, scrape away all that, and his sound is awfully infectious. With Spirit Animal.
George Thorogood at Wolf Trap: Most eighties babies have fond memories of the song “Bad to the Bone,” which was thrown into countless television commercials, movies, and sitcom episodes as theme music for all manner of bullies, villains, and tough guys. Baseball player-turner-rocker Thorogood is the man behind the jam, and it's almost certain that he'll throw in into his Wolf Trap set tonight. With the Robert Cray Band
Richard Elliot at the Birchmere: Saxophonist Richard Eliot was supposed to perform at the Birch on Aug. 5, but the Great Summer Storm of 2010 knocked out the venue’s power, and the gig was canceled. Elliot’s back tonight, with trumpeter Rick Braun.
