A weekly roundup of events hosted or sponsored by Washington's embassies.
This week, the embassies bring us two Valentine's Day dances, a pair of classical music recitals, a pinch of visual arts, a film screening, and a book discussion. But if you get anything out of this roundup, make it this: Don't sleep on the fondue party at the Swiss Embassy.

Monday
Feb. 14 is the last day to register for Saturday's fondue party at the Embassy of Switzerland. Organized by the Swiss Club of D.C., this event is technically only open to club members, but non-members can register as a guest, then pay a $10 membership fee the night of the event. BYO caquelon, rechaud, burner, and forks. Capacity is limited to 120, but the deliciousness is unlimited. Update 3:03 p.m.: A Swiss Club board member tells me that registrations will not be accepted at the door, contrary to what the club's newsletter says. You can still join the club, but your application may not be processed in time for the event. Nooooo!
Closing soon
Dermolition at the Embassy of Chile; free, RSVP required
