A group of musicians and dancers of Middle Eastern heritage from D.C., Baltimore, and New York City have launched the Peace in the Middle East Concert Series "to promote peace and tolerance between Arabs and Israelis," organizers said in a release. Musicians Khaled, Sahffi, Mosno, Hannah Spiro, Insijam, and Maharal will be among the artists featured in the series. The first concert will take place March 27 at 6 p.m. at George Mason University.

"This series is a great way to bring people together and shed light on the people's relationship that you don't see in the news," said Khaled Dajani, founder of the series, in a statement. "We believe music is the perfect medium to heal and unite and through this universal form of communication we hope to strengthen the hope for peace in the region."

A a portion of the proceeds from each performance will go to the UK-based charity, Children of Peace.
