Organizers of the D.C. Music Fest announced yesterday that the event has been canceled.
Despite having a finalized line-up (including Honor By August and R.P.M) and a cool-looking logo, festival planners Jonathan Chevalley and Ashley Estill said a "lack of funding and sponsorships" was behind the decision to pull the plug.
The all-local festival was announced in December and was to be held in May at the Yards Park. Organizers said that they hoped they'd be able to revive the idea at some point.
"We hope that is something we'll be able to do in the future but, as of this point the May 7th event has been cancelled." organizers wrote on the event's Facebook page yesterday.
