Tonight is the final show of the first annual "Washington Women in Jazz” festival, hosted by Twins Jazz. The event, organized by locally-based jazz pianist/vocalist Amy K. Bormet, brought emerging female jazz musicians, from trombonist Melissa Gardiner to saxophonist Leigh Pilzer, to Twins every Wednesday in March. Vocalist Christie Dashiell and alto saxophonist Sarah Hughes close out the series—which hopefully will return next year.
