Finally, we can stop drooling over all of the grainy YouTube videos of Meshell Ndegeocello performing Prince songs: The D.C. native brings the covers show to the D.C. area next week.

"Gett Off: Meshell Ndegeocello Covers the Music of Prince" comes to the State Theatre in Falls Church on Thursday, June 16. Ndegeocello got the idea for an all-Prince show in 2009, while covering the Purple One during her Devil's Halo tour, but she's actually been performing his stuff since way back.  For a taste of what to expect, check out Ndegeocello (who is the daughter of beloved D.C. sax player Jacques Johnson) go to work on a version of "Pop Life," during a recent west coast performance.
