The Fort Dupont summer concert series, possibly the only concert series in the city that brings out both hipsters and van club members, announced its schedule today.

According to a press release, the season of free shows in the Southeast park kicks off July 9, with a performance from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington's Teen Arts Performance (T.A.P.) group, accompanied by violinist Chelsey Green. After that, it's all funk and old-school soul with Regina Belle, The Manhattans, Zapp, The Bar-Kays, and Mandrill. One strange omission: No Roy Ayers, who has made an appearance on the calendar most years, making his annual Ft. Dupont show something of a tradition. Here's hoping he'll be added to the line-up at a later date. Full schedule after the jump.
