If someone offers to take you to a hotel to hear some music sometime over the next couple of weeks, it doesn't necessarily mean he/she is a creep.
"Live at Aloft Hotels," is a celebration of the Aloft chain's 50th hotel opening. Starting tomorrow, 50 artists will hit 50 hotels in 50 days for 50 different "Live at Aloft Hotels" events. The live music will take place in the "w xyz" bars of each of the properties, which are boutique offshoots of the W Hotel brand. The local performances and dates for “50 Days of Music” in the D.C. area are:
· Crys Matthews, September 23 at Aloft Dulles Airport North at 7 p.m.
· Steven B, October 7 at Aloft Washington National Harbor at 7 p.m.
· 4 II C, October 17 at Aloft Baltimore-Washington International Airport at 5:30 p.m.
Herndon blues singer Crys Matthews, Landover sax player Steven B, and Newport News gospel vocalists 4 II C are all pretty great, so the series is kind of a nice little perk for travelers. But is it worth hitting up if you're not actually a guest in one of these hotels? Maybe. The downside: It's in a hotel. The upside: It's in a hotel!
