826DC presents Literary Death Match's six-year anniversary, featuring Huffington Post associate editor Arin Greenwood, poet Molly Gaudry, short story writer Scott McClanahan, and writer Amber Sparks. Judges include Post humor blogger Alexandra Petri and author Ed Ugel. DC9. 8 p.m. $7/$10.

The Barrelhouse Crime Issue Release Party, features a night of fiction, poetry and essays at the Black Squirrel. 7 p.m.

What pairs better with literature? In celebration of 2012, the Year of Gastronomy in Belgium, Raise a Glass to Belgium's art de bien manger! with chef Paul Fourier of La Gourmandine — frites, waffles, chocolate, beer. National Museum of Natural History. 7 p.m. $20/$25.
