Beltway Drama Series presents "Alternative Methods," a staged reading of Patricia Davis' Alternative Methods, and a 15 to 20 minute post-show discussion with audience members. The New York International Fringe Award winner is the story of a young psychologist in her attempts to get through to an Iraqi doctor who's been detained and interrogated, suspected of treating an injured al-Qaida leader. Busboys and Poets/Hyattsville. 7 p.m. $10 suggested donation.

The Dandy Warhol's 8th studio album, This Machine, is a far cry from the the David Bowie-inspired 2003 release of Welcome to the Monkey House. De-facto leader/singer/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor says of the band's latest release reminiscent of 13th Floor Elevators, "I think, when you strip back to just two guitar parts, you naturally find that dirtier is better." 9:30 Club. Psychic Ills and 1776 open. 7 p.m. $25.
