Tonight: And I Am Not Lying, 'Are You There, Chelsea?'

After a successful evening last year, New York-based And I Am Not Lying returns to town with another edition of storytelling, comedy and burlesque. Based off Jeff Simmermon's arts and culture blog of the same name, the night features storytellers Simmermon, who's appeared in This American Life and The Moth, Cyndi Freeman, writer of Wonder Woman: A How-To Guide for Little Jewish Girls, Story League's SM Shrake and Brad Lawrence of, The Moth. Cherry Pitz and Amelia Bareparts perform burlesque. "We either laugh together, or get over some shit together," Simmermon says. Black Cat Backstage. 8 p.m. & 10 p.m. $12. 8 p.m. show has SOLD OUT.

Los Angeles comedian Ali Wong takes her talents to Riot Act Comedy Theater. Listed as Variety's "10 Comics to Watch," Wong stars as Bianca in the new NBC series, Are You There, Chelsea? based off comedian and late-night talk show host Chelsea Handler's books. 8 p.m. $12.

Bonnie Raitt performs with special guest Mavis Staples at Wolf Trap. 8 p.m. $48 in-house, $30 lawn.
