The SCAR Project Kickoff Party takes place at The Dunes tonight. The SCAR Project: Breast Cancer is Not a Pink Ribbon, is a documentary and book about the realities of breast cancer. The SCAR Project, shot by photographer David Jay, is a series of photographs of women dealing with breast cancer, and their stories of life behind the pink ribbons. "Our goal is to make a strong statement by showing our country what breast cancer is really about," says Donna Guinn Kaufman, a breast cancer survivor, The SCAR Project DC exhibition producer and founder of Kill the Beast Foundation. Jay and the SCAR models will be at the event. The Dunes. 6 p.m.$25. All proceeds will fund The SCAR Project DC, an exhibition unveiled later this year.
