Fire at VA Theological Seminary

UPDATE Oct. 28, 3:13 p.m.: Investigators have determined the fire that Virginia Theological Seminary Church was accidental in nature.

Fire tore through the chapel Oct. 22, causing $2.5 million in damages.

Investigators determined the fire began in the sacristy of the Chapel. The building was constructed in 1823, and used daily for worship services.

UPDATE, 5:33 PM: The Associated Press reports that the chapel has "extensive damage." AP also says Alexandria Fire Department spokesman John North said the final damage is likely to be a "terrible loss."

No injuries were reported and a cause has not been determined, according to AP. 

ORIGINAL: Alexandria Fire and Rescue are on the scene two alarm fire on the 3700 block Seminary Road in Alexandria.

The fire is on grounds of the Virginia Theological Seminary. A chapel is reportedly on fire.
