D.C. police confirm six boys have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl at Dunbar High School on Monday.

Police released the following statement:

"Dunbar High school was informed of an alleged sexual assault on Tuesday morning. The female student alleges the assault occurred the previous day during school hours in the school building. She did not report the incident until she went home Monday evening, where she was subsequently taken to a local hospital and a report was filed with MPD. Arrests have been made. An ongoing criminal investigation by MPD precludes any further comment by DCPS at this time."

Dunbar High School is located at 1301 New Jersey Ave. NW.
