Kensington woman menaced by sister
UPDATE 2:27 p.m.: Montgomery County police say they were called to the home in the 4300 block of Westbrook Lane about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when a woman said she was being threatened with a gun by her sister.
Investigators say the aggressor had left the home by the time police arrived. they did recover a loaded handgun at the scene, police said.
Police were still looking for the aggressor, who is not believed to be armed.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from an ongoing family dispute.
UPDATE 1:45 p.m.: Investigators say there was a domestic situation at the home, but officers are not facing a barricade or hostage situation.
Police have made contact with one resident and are looking for a female to check on her wellbeing and state of mind, according to Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesperson. He said officers are searching the house to see if she was still there.
ORIGINAL POST 1:15 p.m.: Montgomery County police have surrounded a home in the Kensington area after officers were alerted to a "domestic violence situation" Tuesday afternoon.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the police Emergency Response Team has been called to the home in the 4300 block of Westbrook Lane.
