Someone torched a speed camera on Quince Orchard Road early Monday morning, Gaithersburg police said.
A passerby noticed the device burning, between Hillstone Road and McDonald Chapel Drive, around 2 a.m. and called 911, Gaithersburg Police Sgt. Rudy Wagner said.
The fire was extinguished, but the speed camera was heavily damaged. Sgt. Wagner says he believes the fire was intentionally set.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Montgomery County Fire Marshall’s office.
