An intoxicated teen was shot after stumbling into the wrong apartment in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County Police said.

Police say the residents at the apartment thought the teen was trying to break in, so they fired  a shotgun loaded with pellets at him.

Afterwards, police responded to the 400 block of Muddy Branch Road for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival, they found a male juvenile, his age is unknown, with a shot gun wound to the chest.

Police say the teen got the wrong address because he was drunk. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
