HazMat team called to federal mail facility in Capitol Heights

A hazardous materials crew was called to a federal mail-clearing facility in Capitol Heights Thursday afternoon for the report of several suspicious letters, according to Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesman Mark Brady.

Brady described the facility as a clearing house for mail heading to Congress.

The investigation remains ongoing.

There's been heightened suspicions about the mail since three mail-borne incendiary devices caught fire last week in Maryland and D.C.
