Man shot in head in Greenbelt

UPDATE 11:45 a.m.: Greenbelt police officers have identified the victim of the shooting as a 31-year-old Hispanic male of Greenbelt. At this time, the victim is listed in critical condition. Detectives are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

UPDATE 4:46 a.m.: Police say the man was found just after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the hallway of an apartment building on Cherrywood Lane. He was taken to the Prince George’s Trauma Center with a gunshot wound to the head, where he is still undergoing evaluation and treatment, police said.

A man who was shot Wednesday night in Greenbelt, Md. was taken to an area trauma center in critical condition.

The man was shot in his upper body at about 7:30 p.m. on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane.

Greenbelt police are currently investigating the incident and searching for the shooter.
