D.C. Fire and EMS medics are evaluating 10 patients after a Metrobus and at least one vehicle collided at the intersection of 5th and Savannah streets SE, a fire official said.
Fire spokesman Pete Piringer says no one appears to be seriously hurt. He said a Metrobus collided with two one vehicles.
Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates tells ABC7 News that the crash involved one passenger vehicle, a Jeep, and an A4 Metrobus, which was traveling toward the Southern Avenue Metro station.
Gates says six people on bus are "claiming neck and back injuries" and three people in the Jeep are claiming injuries. None of the injuries appeared life-threatening, Gates said.
Because of the number of patients involved, the crash was labeled a "mass casualty incident."
