UPDATE Jan. 12, 4:27 p.m.: Prince George's County police have identified the man slain yesterday in his Adelphi home as 22-year-old Justin Vance Desha-Overcash.

UPDATE 1:46 p.m.: A drug-dealing University of Maryland student was gunned down Tuesday during an attempted robbery, a law enforcement source tells ABC7 News.
The source described the victim as a 22-year-old University of Maryland student.
Investigators found enough marijuana in the student's rented home to indicate he was dealing, the source said. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation during an attempted drug robbery, police said.
"His chosen lifestyle more likely than not contributed significantly to this homicide," said Col. Kevin Davis, a Prince George's County deputy police chief.
Witnesses told police the gunman wore a ski mask. University of Maryland police issued a lookout for a black male wearing dark clothing.
The killing marks Prince George's County's 11th homicide of the year. The source said eight of the 11 homicides have been drug-related.
This latest killing comes just days after police announced a stepped-up program for curbing violence in the county. They transferred detectives to crime investigation and drug enforcement.
Police are also asking the public for help.
"This community is at its best when the community and police department stand shoulder to shoulder and say in unison, 'We're not going to tolerate criminal activity,'" Col. Davis said.
