A soldier from Prince William County has died in Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced Monday.

Sgt. 1st Class Anthony Venetz Jr. died Jan. 28 in Parwan province of injuries sustained in a non-combat incident, the DoD said.

Venetz, 30, was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Fort Bragg, N.C.
