Republicans killed an amendment passed by Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) to restore $150 million for Metro safety.

The amendment would have reinstated the annual federal payment to Metro for fiscal year 2011. It would have offset the cost by lowering direct farm subsidies.
