One person was injured Tuesday after a fire broke out at a gas station in NW D.C. Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at the Washingtonian Gas Station at 1576 Wisconsin Avenue NW at about 8 a.m.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze. But they initially believe the fire was started by people working on a fuel pump in the garage with a space heater located nearby.

Three people were inside the gas station when the fire broke out. They escaped the station and didn’t want to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.
When crews arrived on the scene, heavy fire and smoke was coming from the garage of the gas station.
Additional units were called to the scene. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
There is significant structural damage to the gas station and crews are checking for hotspots.
Officials say surrounding buildings were affected by the fire. Los Cuates Restaurant is closed due to smoke and water damage.
