D.C. police say a 47-year-old Silver Spring man was shot and killed in Northeast overnight.

The victim was shot near the intersection of Bryant Street and Downing Street about 10:15 p.m. Monday, police say. He was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

There is no official motive or lookout in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
