UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: The rubble has been removed and Canal Road has reopened.

UPDATE 10:17 a.m.: DDOT says Canal Road may be temporarily closed  Thursday morning as crews clear the roadway. Motorists are urged to alternate routes until further notice.

UPDATE 8:24 a.m.: One eastbound lane of Canal Road, near Clark Place, is closed due to a mud slide. DDOT is enroute to scene.
