An Accokeek home sustained $300,000 worth of damage and a family has been displaced after it caught fire on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters in Prince George's County responded to the house in the 700 block of Edelin Court at about 6 p.m. to find the house engulfed in heavy flames. They say the fire appeared to have started in the garage and damaged three vehicles.

They were forced to fight the fire from outside the home after conditions forced firefighters to evacuate.
