Armored car robbed at White Oak Bank of America

Montgomery County Police are investigating an armored car robbery at a Bank of America in White Oak.

Police say that the robbery took place at 9:57 a.m. at the Bank of America branch at 11499 Columbia Pike.

The suspect, described as a 5'7" black male with a beard, sunglasses and a winter hat, fled the scene in a blue two-door Chevrolet Cavalier.

He reportedly got away with more than $100,000.

Authorities said the suspect waited for the armored can to park at the bank and then followed the carrier into the bank while the armored car's driver waiting in the vehicle.

The suspect walked behind the carrier inside the bank and then robbed him at gunpoint.

The suspect then fled the bank.
