Cherry blossom parade stalled by vehicle fire

A vehicle pulling a National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade float caught fire just after 11 a.m. Saturday, briefly stalling the popular event at 12th and Constitution Ave NW.

D.C. Fire and EMS responded and extinguished the fire, the vehicle was removed from the area by tow truck, according to Pete Piringer, D.C .Fire and EMS spokesman.
