A man suspected of raping two girls 30 years ago was arrested in Florida and brought to Montgomery County to face charges. According to court documents, Christopher Chamblin, 48, raped two sisters – one 5-years-old and the other 7-years-old.

Police said a woman claimed Christopher Chamblin, 48, raped her when she was child. She told authorities Chamblin was 15 or 16 at the time and lived next door to her in Silver Spring.

“This was a situation where this young girl was lured into the home, play with a puppy, have a treat and then eventually this young man as a teenager sexually assaulted her,” said Lucille Baur, spokeswoman for the Montgomery County police.

The woman, now 36, told police Chamblin threatened to kill her and her family if she told, but decided to report the incident to police after receiving counseling and therapy.

Charging documents say that Chamblin lured two girls into his house with chocolate Easter eggs, then threatened them with a knife and sexually assaulted them.

Police issued an arrest warrant and Chamblin was taken into custody in March. He has since been released, but is expected to appear in court in Rockville on Monday.

Detectives are looking for other potential victims.
