A large snake caused quite a headache for Pepco on Easter Sunday.
Nearly 7,000 customers in the Upper Marlboro area lost power for about three hours on Sunday morning and afternoon when a snake slithered a little too close to some feeder lines.
The outages were concentrated in the area of a bus section along Route 301 in Prince George's County. A bus section is a piece of equipment that provides power to five feeder lines, each of which feed about 1,500 customers.
Power was restored to all customers just after 1 p.m.
At its peak, the outage affected 6,912 customers.
