St. Thomas Apostle Church burglarized, man arrested

D.C. Police arrested a man suspected of stealing high-end electronic equipment from a District church in Northwest early Monday morning.

Authorities say that officers responded at about 3 a.m. to a report of a suspect entering the St. Thomas Apostle Church at 2665 Woodley Road through the roof. He allegedly removed a large amount of the equipment and left the church.

Officers stopped the suspect's vehicle in the area of 14th Street and Spring Road NW, which was loaded down with the equipment. The unidentified man was charged with first-degree burglary.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the suspect is connected to other similar crimes in the area.
