UPDATE (9:52 a.m.): Officials are now saying that some residents in the area of the main break will be affected, specifically in one apartment complex closest to the broken fire line.

Officials expect the break to be repaired in the next three or four hours.

UPDATE (9:04 a.m.): An official with Water Services say s that the line that broke supplies fire services, and is not a supply line. Therefore, Arlington estimates that no customers have had their water service interrupted.

The water main break is under control and no more water is flowing. Crews are on site and the line will be repaired. Officials say the line probably broke as a result of the swift change in temperature in the region.

ORIGINAL POST: Arlington Water & Sewer confirms that a water main broke near the 4500 block of South Four Mile Run Drive in Arlington overnight.

There is no estimate to when service may be restored.
