No bikes yet — they're still being assembled, according to WashCycle — but Crystal City started to see some signs of its new Capital Bikeshare stations today.
A crew from the company running the bike sharing program was on scene at South 18th Street and South Bell Street this morning placing the first docks for the bikes. They were originally slated to start at a station further south, but the wide road and relatively light traffic on Bell Street made that location ideal for the first time, according to Bikeshare staff on site.
The station is a large one due to its proximity to the Crystal City Metro station; it includes 19 docks for bikes and will start out with 13 bikes when the program launches.
