The vegetables at Giant were apparently not fresh enough for one shopper last week. Arlington County Police responded to an incident at the Washington Boulevard store just after 8 a.m. on Aug. 25 after a man entered the store and spit on the vegetable display, according to police.

The unidentified suspect also assaulted a cashier before he fled. According to public information officer Detective Crystal Nosal:

The suspect came into the store and started spitting on the vegetable display. When he walked over to customer service and wasn't waited on immediately, he took hand lotion from the counter and squirted it all over the candy display. He then assaulted the clerk that was cleaning up the display.

Customer service just couldn't do anything to please this guy. As for the rest of the store's customers — well, we're guessing they avoided the produce aisle on that shopping trip.
