A clogged storm drain led to serious flooding this morning in front of the Yes! Organic Market located at 4100 Georgia Ave. NW.

Hours after the severe thunderstorm ended earlier this a.m., water was still almost a foot deep in some places in the road in front of the store, with several inches spilling up and over the sidewalk. (Apologies for the poor image quality, having some video issues and the best I could do was grab this still for now).

The Yes! Organic Market has remained open all morning, and power is on in the immediate area. Petworth's neighbors in Brightwood and 16th Street Heights haven't been so lucky.

The latest outage numbers from Pepco stand at approximately 17,500 customers without power in the District of Columbia. D.C. got off relatively easily compared to Montgomery County.
